Narrative
At 13:00 on 9/27/2023, a technician performing maintenance at the north houston exxon terminal location arrived on site and found the corrosion coupon holder leaking. To stop the leak, the technician closed the 2" valve on the coupon holder, which isolated the point of failure on the corrosion coupon holder from the pipeline. Clean-up activities were initiated. The coupon holder was removed and sent for analysis by the manufacturer. The manufacturer found that the seals had worn over time. To prevent a re-occurrence the coupon holder was replaced.
