On 9/22/2023 at 9:00 am (mountain time), an mplx operator was doing a station check and noticed oil on the mainline pump containment. The operator called the controller to shut down pump ml-483 and notified the area supervisor. The supervisor dispatched a hydro-vac to assist with the cleanup of the containment and drain isolated segment on that pump. The pump seal failed recently as the operator had station checks the day before and walked through those pumps multiple times. The spare pump was put into service to avoid any downtime, and pump 483 was repaired and put back into service on 09/26/2023.
