On 8/28/23 at or around 01:18 cst a field operator ii (foii) conducting routine sampling heard product dripping in the vicinity of the station sample building. The appropriate notifications were made in accordance with procedure. Upon further investigation the foii observed the htn l2 rcv trap door leaking product. The foii instructed the desk operator (foi) to shut down the station (l1 and l2) and proceeded to drain the receiving trap door effectively stopping the leaking product. All released product (51 gallons) was contained on site and recovered. It was discovered that the o-ring in the door had separated in 2 locations causing the release. Repairs were completed and the line was returned to normal operations on 8/28/2023 at approximately 2:26 cst. To mitigate reoccurrence procedural action items will be to replace the o-ring for each time a trap door is opened. No external notifications were required.
