Ili assessment completed july 2023, and preliminary reports were provided on 8/18. Validation digs to verify reports of metal loss were scheduled for 8/24. During excavation, the inspector identified some contaminated soil as well as an abandoned foreign line. The operator of the foreign line removed test leads from pipeline near our pipeline segment causing interference with the cathodic protection on line.
