During a station inspection an explorer employee discovered 13 gallons of fuel oil inside an enclosed vault associated with a check valve at a pump station. The product was totally contained inside the vault on a secured fenced station. The product in the vault was removed. The direct cause of the release was associated with the bushing seal of a check valve. The check valve was properly repaired, and the bushing and seal have been submitted to a third-party for testing who confirmed the cause was from operational wear.
