On july 26, a marathon employee noticed dead vegetation with a small spot of wet soil on the pipeline right of way. Upon further investigation the smell of hydrocarbons was present, and a call was made to the shut down the system. The nrc was notified at 13:22 on july 26th. The line was excavated, and it was determined that there was a small hole in pipeline that had been leaking slowly for some time. The release volume is calculated at 54 bbls. Updated items with supplemental. A4 and a13 updated the time to when operator discovered the release. Commodity released and recovered was updated to 54 bbls. Cost of commodity lost was updated. Repair cost was updated. Emergency response cost was updated.
