Narrative
At approximately 10:30 pm, on july 5, 2023, tulsa pipeline control received multiple gas detector alarms at the ptr2 - pt arthur ethane pump station. The hi hi gas detector alarm was activated that, by design, automatically isolated the station by shutting all the valves. The controller on the board at the time, called operations technician to respond. Technician arrived at approximately 11:00 pm and confirmed a leak. Technician isolated the leak (closed valves v216 and v125), at approximately 11:14 pm, and tulsa pipeline control flagged the pump to be offline until permanent repairs could be made. Technician called supervisor to inform him of the leak and that the p200 pump had been locked out. Station alarms and shutdowns were cleared at 11:30pm. Technician called the soc at 11:40pm to report the release. Technician called the tulsa pipeline control center at 11:59 pm to report the station was secured and release mitigated. Investigation still ongoing update 9/12/2023 - pump back in service as of 8/3/2023, pump was repaired on 7/5/2023 and investigation was completed on 7/12/2023
