On april 25th crimson control center was notified by tuan tran with the osfm of a potential release at east sepulveda blvd and dominguez channel in carson. Crimson dispatched filed personal to the location. Upon arrival kinder morgan and marathon and their emergency personal were on site responding. Crimson confirmed the release was from an oos crimson pipeline osfm #0414. Crimson confirmed isolation and secured the release location. The release was contained and crimson coordinated cleanup and repair. Suplemental meeting with crimson pipeline cathodic protection personnel and integrity management personnel the investigation found the pin hole leak was caused by external corrosion around the transition area at the soil to air interface. In the area of the external corrosion the coating of the pipe was weathered and peeling off. Pipeline csfm #0414 has not been in use (out of service) by crimson pipeline since purchase and is scheduled to be waivered in the near future with no plans to reactivate for use.
