Narrative
On 6/8/2023 targa personnel were in the process of remediating an immediate dig anomaly identified as a result of the latest ili tool run. After excavation, targa personnel were preparing the pipe for installation of a type b sleeve to repair the anomaly. While applying epoxy to fill the anomaly void prior to sleeve installation, a pinhole leak was discovered. Targa personnel immediately evacuated the location and contacted targa pipeline control who then isolated the affected segment via upstream and downstream remote actuated valves. Targa personnel used nitrogen and a pig to purge the pipeline free of hydrocarbons so permanent repairs could be made. The section of pipe was cut out and replaced with new pipe and pipeline was returned to service 6/12/2023. The accident was deemed reportable due to cost of repair exceeding $50,000 threshold.
