Narrative
On may 19th at 09:11, central daylight time (cdt), local operations reported that they had observed dead vegetation within the martinsville north products station. Based on the location of the dead vegetation, the robinson wabash 12" south segment of the wood river to clermont 10" products system was affected. After excavating the site, utilizing both an mpl crew and equipment, it was discovered the segment was leaking transmix from a pin hole at the 8 o'clock position between the tank booster pump and the mainline units. Based on field examination, this release was due to corrosion that resulted from a below grade coating failure. Approximately 10 gallons of free product was discovered in addition to contaminated soil. The release was completely contained within the station. Line was repaired by mpl personnel using a plidco clamp and cleared for restart at 19:24 on 05/19/23. Part j - since the impacted pipe was station piping, no 5-year integrity assessments are required. Supplemental created only to finalize report. No changes were made.
