On 9-9-2023 at 13:36 ct, the controller observed a scada pressure drop and at 13:40 pm, enterprise was notified of a potential pipeline release and fire in eddy county, nm. The controller notified operations to investigate. At 14:00 ct, enterprise personnel arrived onsite to confirm the leak location and proceeded to isolate the ruptured segment. Local first responders (eddy county sheriff department, eddy county fire department and carlsbad police department) were also present to assist. At 20:09 ct, all connecting pipelines to line a-18 were isolated. On 9-9-2023, the pipeline fire self-extinguished. On 9-15-2023, line a-18 was repaired and returned into service. The pipe was transported to the laboratory for metallurgical analysis. Laboratory analysis determined that the pipeline rupture occurred at approximately the 7:00 o'clock orientation due to internal corrosion at erw long seam.
