On 8/30/2023, socalgas crews responded to a third-party damage on l-800 at nevada ave & 30th ave, lemoore, kings county. Upon investigation, the 20-inch transmission line was found to be punctured with farming equipment, ripper, causing a release of natural gas. Repairs have been completed as of 08/31/2023, and service had been restored. No injuries or fatalities resulted from this incident. This incident was reported to the DOT and cpuc due to gas release and damages exceeding $139,700. Investigation of the incident determined the third-party contractor was operating without a USA ticket. Accordingly, the incident was also reported to the ca underground safety board (report# oid28_20230919101530).
