Narrative
At 04:14 on 08/19/23 the control center received a critical alarm indicating the station esd was activated. All compressors were shutdown and isolation valves were closed in the station. Upon activation of the esd the compressor station began an entire blowdown of natural gas. The onsite operator went to the compressor building to determine if there was a fire or any gas detected within the building. Once confirmed there was no immediate danger, the operator began closing off the manual block valves to reduce the venting of gas emissions to the atmosphere. Additional operators were called out to assist the onsite operator and arrived at 05:00. The operators reviewed all alarms and found esd 9832u was activated. During the troubleshooting of the esd switch, it was determined the esd rio fuse was blown which caused the esd to activate. The fuse was replaced and all circuits were verified and the esd cleared. At 05:39 the compressor units and station piping were pressured up to normal operating pressure. The first compressor unit was started and put back into service at 07:00 and the second compressor unit was back in service at 07:30. All other compressor units are pressured up and are on standby. All required notifications were submitted and the compressor station was returned to normal operations at 09:45. Final report
