Narrative
On november 17, 2023, at approximately 8:30am, the houston fire department notified centerpoint energy about a gas leak at the 3600 block of woodhead and kipling street in houston texas. Once centerpoint arrived on site it identified a gas line had been struck by mechanized equipment operated by main line industries (mc2). The damage occurred on a 2" polyethylene gas line which was an offset to deconflict the 6" steel, with another utility placement. While the contractor was preparing the sub-base for the proposed roadway, the contractor came in contact with cnp facility with road reclaimer (asphalt grinder). After initial review, it was determined that mc2 had a valid one call ticket (no. 2381471224) for this work, and the locate vendor responded to the locate request in the required time. After further review it was determined that this 2" polyethylene line was not available in cnp mapping system.
