Narrative
Reported indication of leak on friday june 9, 2023. After initial investigation and squeezing 2" main, it was determined that leak was probable on 6" steel main. More investigation revealed that we would have to bore in new pipe to replace leaking facility. It was then discovered that cost would exceed reportable criteria and a call to the nrc was placed on monday june 12, 2023 at 14:35 pm central time. Ongoing repairs and 24 hour monitoring continued until wednesday june 21, 2023 when indications revealed that leak may be getting worse and a decision was made to turn system off. System was completely purged @ 1:20 am thursday june 22, 2023. Repairs were complete and system returned to service on friday june 23, 2023.
