Approximately 7.4 barrels of crude oil were released from the header for tank line 1713 at wink south station. The date and time of the release (part a q4) is indicative of the earliest possible time the release could have started based on the volume of the spill at the time of discovery. The cause of the release is attributed to internal corrosion and a supplemental report will be submitted pending further investigation into the sub-cause and preventative measure. Supplemental: correction to part b q10; crude oil did not leave plains property. A supplemental report will be submitted pending further investigation into the failed section of pipe and preventative measures. Supplemental (2): the cause of the release is attributed to internal corrosion as a result of microbiologically induced corrosion (mic). The prevent future incidents, the failed section of pipe was clamped and removed from service.
