Narrative
The pump had been stopped for19 hours. When a seal fail alarm was triggered. The control center called out a tech to inspect the sight. Upon arrival, he found the seal was still releasing product into the atmosphere through the seal fail system. The tech isolated the seal fail tubing to stop the product release, isolated the pump site from the pipeline, and locked it out from further use. The seals will be pulled for inspection/rebuilt prior to the pump being placed back in service. Update 6/20/23 - pump has been repaired and is back in service. Update 2/8/24 - the update on 6/20/23 should have been indicated as a final report. This update is only to change the status to a final report.
