Narrative
On the morning of august 28, 2022, a vapor monitor alarm was received by the explorer control center. The pump station was not operational, but product from the pipeline was flowing through the station. The pipeline was shut down and the station was isolated from the mainline pipeline. Field personnel were dispatched to the gerald, mo pump station and discovered a 150-gallon release of gasoline that was totally contained to the property. The source of the release was confirmed to be the seal on the control valve which was submitted to a third-party for failure analysis. Any free phase product was recovered, and any petroleum impacted soil was properly managed.
