Narrative
On 7/8/2022 at 2:45 am cst, during facility rounds, pipeline operator located crude oil leaking from a 2 inch nipple off the inlet to meter skid 1001 at appelt terminal. The skid has been isolated and soil remediated. The field examination identified the cause to be internal corrosion; the 2 inch nipple was replaced. To prevent recurrence all 2 inch nipples at appelt terminal will be replaced. Enterprise notified trrc once the volume was estimated to exceed 5 gallons. At 12:00 pm on 7/10/2022, enterprise determined that repair cost was estimated to exceed $50k. Nrc were immediately notified. 48 hour update nrc report number: 1341273
