Narrative
Nustar operations personnel discovered a leak inside valero's mckee refinery at nustar's 03p el paso pipeline system pump station. The system pump station was immediately shutdown. Approximately 56 gallons of gasoline was released and contained inside the facility. The leak originated at an instrument hose associated with the discharge pressure loop. The hose was replaced, and the system was re-started. The hose has been sent to a third-party laboratory for analysis. Update: the failed hose ruptured due to abrasion/mechanical wear of the reinforcing braids. The length of the hose allowed it to contact adjacent pipe and/or supports, and this contact point was the source of the wear damage.
