While performing nearby survey work, contractor notified the operation center of the smell of natural gas on line 1.The leak was not directly observed but rather discovered by dead vegetation on the pipeline right of way. The segment was isolated and blown down prior to excavation to allow for safe digging, so an exact leak point was not directly observed. Corrosion was observed on the leak clamp following excavation. Pipe was cut out and replaced with a new section of pipe.
