On 09/02/2022, socalgas was notified of a wildfire in the area of castaic named the route fire. Socalgas crews investigated reports of an auditable leak at an above ground span on transmission line 85. As a precautionary measure the transmission pipeline was isolated and is still currently out of service with investigation ongoing. This incident was reported to DOT and cpuc due to gas release and damages exceeding $129,000. Socalgas is currently in the process of acquiring perinate permits such and emergency and environmental as well as negotiating with contractors for assessment and repairs and developing engineering solutions for l-85 span repairs. Updates -socalgas holds the position that a4 is the time when the company was made aware of the incident, in contrast to a13 is the time when the incident meet reporting criteria. These two times can be exclusive from one another due to time needed to calculate and assess damages. -part c weld- weld was bell-bell-chill-ring (bbcr) -part g was reverted back to g4. On 2-20-2024 a change was made to part a 4 to reflect the request from PHMSA to change the time from time incident became reportable to the time the company was notified. Per PHMSA note "4:31, consistent with a13). Earliest time the incident happened. A4) should not be confused with 'time of confirmed discovery' which is the trigger for reporting. Part c type of weld was bell-bell-chill-ring (bbcr).
