A failed regulator, controlling the compressor suction line esd valve, allowed the esd valve to open resulting in gas release to atmosphere. The compressor suction line was manually isolated and blocked in thus stopping the release of gas to the atmosphere. The failed regulator was replaced with a new regulator. A redundant source from another supply, including an additional regulator, was added to prevent future events.
