Narrative
On 8/17/22 at approximately 07:43, while re-pressurizing line segment 3394, energy transfer was notified by a producer that a sheen was spotted in the vicinity of stingray 30-inch line segment 3394 in the wc550 block. Steps were immediately taken to shut in and isolate line. A call was placed to the nrc by the producer. Et confirmed the sheen with an overflight. Et outsourced a depressurization spread and dive company to investigate the leak site. A notification was made to the nrc at 10:50 (nrc # 1344742) and the 48-hour nrc notification was made on 8/18/22 at 16:22 (nrc # 1344893). Our crew at wc509 is working to remove pressure from the line. The depressurization vessel arrives onsite, 8/20/22, to expedite the process. On 8/22/22, the dsv mesotech sonar confirms this is our line and a new leak. Due to the line pressure and condensate, the dsv was unable to dive. Venting and depressurization spread continued until condensate was no longer visible. The dsv arrived onsite at approximately 01:00 on 8/24/22. Divers confirmed a pin hole leak at the 6 oclock position in a field joint. The depressurization vessel will stay at wc 509 until the clamp is installed. Energy transfer called the nrc on 8/25/22 at 13:33 to take ownership of the release and update responsible party to stingray. Nrc# 1345524 a clamp was installed on the 30-inch line and it was returned to service on 8/27/22.
