Narrative
During normal pigging operations a valve gasket failed approximately 6 feet from the pig trap. There was no pressure exceedance. The gasket was inspected, but the inspection and review of the event found no causal factors contributing to the gasket failure. Operations cleared the facility for safety reasons and began isolation and blown down of the site at adjacent interconnecting facilities, which contributed to the release volume making it reportable. The valve was removed and both gaskets were replaced.
