Narrative
On november 16, 2022, at approximate 11:45 hours pg&e incident on-call personnel confirmed that a dig-in located at the east side of grant street, across the street from the residence of 2707 grant street in concord, ca reached DOT reportable incident criteria. Third-party construction equipment struck a 4" steel distribution main resulting in multiple punctures resulting in a release of gas with subsequent ignition. Pg&e personnel responded and stopped gas flow approximately at 12:27 hours. There were no fatalities or injuries. Media, fire and police were reported on site. This incident was reported to the DOT #1352705/1352897 and cpuc 221116-15335 due to media coverage and once it was confirmed that the incident resulted in estimated property damage of at least $129,300.
