At approximately 9:10 am, the painting crew was conducting painting activities/removing plastic from previously painted piping and valves in construction area. While removing the plastic from valve xv-9910 the plastic contacted the 3-way vent valve connected to the latching versa valve, causing gas to vent and the versa to activate letting the blowdown valve open. Operations was in the vicinity and immediately closed the 8' manual valve within minutes. Station 410 was online with two units running but the units did not shut down. No injuries or damage occurred. Valve is part of new installation/construction at the facility.
