Narrative
On april 4, 2022 at approximately 1:33 am, gulf south pipelines experienced a station esd at its harrisville compressor station. Gas control dispatched local operations personnel who confirmed there was no fire at the time of arrival. Investigation revealed that a blown o-ring on an engine oil filter housing of unit #3 allowed oil to spray on the exhaust manifold which caused a brief fire. This flash fire was recognized by fire detection which initiated the esd. The damage was isolated to the oil filter housing and exhaust manifold insulation blanket. Unit #3 was locked out/tagged out, parts were replaced, the area was cleaned up and the unit was returned to service the same day. The answer provided for e1 is 1,424 psig which is the discharge pressure. The suction pressure at the station was 994 psig.
