Narrative
On 06-07-2022, socalgas crews responded to an overpressure on a distribution main in the city of commerce. The overpressure occurred during the process of conducting an in-line inspection run. There were no injuries or fatalities from this incident. This incident was reported to the DOT and the cpuc due to estimated property damage exceeding $122,000. 8/5/22 update - after further investigation, it was determined that during the ili pigging operation, excess liquid debris located in transmission pipeline l-2000 were inadvertently directed into the distribution system, causing a regulator station to stay open and over pressurize a distribution pipeline. All repairs to the pipeline have been completed and no further gas leakage was found. The regulator station was rebuilt, tested and all liquids removed. There have been no further concerns.
