Narrative
A passerby in a vehicle called stating that they smelled gas. Once investigated, gas was found blowing through the water in the creek. Due to the nature of the pipe being located in the creek and beneath a concrete box culvert, the pipe was not exposed and was left in place. The true cause of the leak, hole size, and gas volumes could not be determined. New pipe will be bored under creek for repair. The nrc was not notified at the time of incident because the estimated cost was believed to be below the 122k threshold.
