Narrative
At 15:00 on november 16, 2021 a contractor crew working for empco was hydro-excavating soil at aldine station. As the soil was removed from the 4" drain line that was already isolated, a small pinhole at the 4:00 position began to release jet fuel into the excavation. A vacuum truck was onsite and immediately began removing product from the excavation and drain line to prevent further release of jet fuel to soil. A temporary repair clamp was placed on the 4" drain line to stop the release. To prevent re-occurrence, the drain line will be completely replaced.
