A 3rd party contractor bored into a high pressure 8" steel distribution line while installing telecommunication lines. Damage resulted in 1 commercial outage. Excavation was performed on a expired locate ticket. The contractor was aware that they were working near high pressure line. Between 07/27-08/05/2021 piedmont was on site while the contractor worked near the gas line. The contractor was advised to contact piedmont for additional standbys when needed.
