Narrative
At 11:57 a.M. Pst on july 8, 2021, a third party excavator was crossing an exposed 8" pipeline. While tunneling under the exposed pipeline with an excavator, the 3rd party excavator struck the 8" pipeline. The line strike resulted in a 2" by 6" hole in the pipeline. Cng personnel used existing line stopper fittings (stopple fittings) to control the release which allowed the temporary installation of a plidco clamp. The permanent repair was completed at 4:15 p.M. Pst on 7/14/2021. Per �192.5 class locations, this line strike occurred in a class 1 location. Per internal procedures, all distribution pipelines (less than 20% smys) are classified as class 3, unless located in a class 4 location. April 5, 2021 (part e 3.B date maop established:) is the date this pipeline was downrated to a 200 psig maop.
