Narrative
At 08:59 am june 7, 2021, scg received a call from the milford fire department regarding a gas fire involving a vehicle at 500 bic drive building #4 in milford. Scg first responders were informed that a commercial type lawn mower had struck the gas service regulator to the address resulting in a gas leak and fire. The fire department reported that approximately 50 occupants of the building were evacuated. The fire was extinguished by the milford fire department. The gas was shut off to the building by scg. The operator of the lawnmower sustained burns from the gas fire, and was taken to the hospital. Scg has learned that the operator of the lawnmower died of his injuries on july 2, 2021. This supplemental report updates the number of fatalities from "0" to "1" to reflect the death of the lawnmower operator.
