Narrative
A vehicle heading north on hwy 161 lost control and went off of the east side of the highway. The vehicle struck two brick and mortar pedestals, centerpoint energy's steel barricade, and struck the regulator station located approximately 20' from hwy 161 before coming to rest approximately 20' past the regulator station. The impact caused the following damage to the district regulator station: cracked 2 inch valve on outlet side of station, broke the 3/8 inch stainless steel line (pilot) on high pressure side of the regulator and stripped out the relief valve stack that was screwed into a flange on a second 2 inch valve that was attached to the outlet side of the station. Centerpoint energy's crews stop the flow of gas on the damaged line, repaired the damaged main, and installed a new regulator station.
