Narrative
On january 17, national grid received notification of a gas related fire with main blowing gas. The cause of the fire was a primary electrical wire making contact above the 6" steel main resulting in the fire occurring. Approx. 17 houses were evacuated (18 residents), a 2" bypass was run to avoid customer interruptions, and temporary repairs were made. Temporary repairs were completed with a made safe time of 16:25. Additionally, the south park street bridge was closed as a result of this incident. For part e, question 5, odorant is injected at either biddlecum gate station or crogham gate station. The damaged pipeline segment was replaced with a 5'6" segment of 6" apix62 smaw 6010/7010 pipe with cold applied tape coating early february, 2021. The segment was air tested at 90 psi for 1 hour.
