On 01-09-21, socalgas, which had an employee present as stand-by, was notified of a third party damage at alameda and temple st., los angeles, ca. The third party contractor damaged a 6 inch high pressure steel gas main with an auger. Gas was controlled at 14:33 on 1/9/21. There were no reported fatalities or injuries due to the gas release. The investigation showed the third party contractor had a valid USA ticket a201560744. The third party contractor did not properly expose the main before using the auger equipment. This incident was reported to the DOT and cpuc due to the release of gas and damages exceeding $50,000.
