Narrative
An 8-inch steel natural gas main was ruptured by a backhoe while a contract crew was grading an entrance to a new subdivision. Once the incident was made safe it was identified that the amount of gas loss when considering the size of the rupture and operating conditions that the threshold for reporting may have been exceeded where the national response center (nrc) was contacted at that time. Notification to the one-call center was made, however, it appears the facility was not located properly. Additional nrc report number 1290864 was created for the same event after a supplemental call was placed with the nrc to update the initial telephonic notice.

Narrative
