Vehicle was traveling north on road l when it left the roadway off right side. Vehicle collided with gas main and regulator station next to roadway. Vehicle broke through steel guard around regulator station and broke inlet feed to station. Driver of vehicle left the scene. Law enforcement contacted driver at her residence. The driver was transported to hospital due to injuries, was treated and released shortly after arrival. Driver was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. Regulator station was badly damaged and blowing gas. This had to be shut down and a temporary bypass installed at station resupply gas to 20 customers. The station was later completely rebuilt and new guard installed to protect it. Black hills energy did not expect this to exceed $50,000 initially but rebuild costs were extensive and later determined that it met incident reporting and was called in to nrc.
