Narrative
On 08/01/20, socalgas was notified of a vehicle incident at 2214 main st, cambria. A vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in a parking lot, lost control, crashing into the left corner of the business. The impact of the crash, bent the bollards protecting the meter set assembly, breaking a nipple downstream of the service valve, thus causing a gas release and ignition. Socalgas crew responded to the scene and safely controlled the gas. There were no reported injuries caused by the release of gas. This was reported to cpuc and DOT (#1283445) due to a release of gas and damages exceeding $50,000.
