Narrative
Third party contractor struck pgs' properly marked 4" steel main while installing telecommunications conduit. The damage occurred on a 4 lane highway at a depth of 13 to 14 feet. The area was made safe, temporarily, by turning off the valve. To restore service 400 feet of steel pipe was inserted through the damaged line. Once permits are obtained, pgs plans to retire the damaged section of main and replace it will a new installation. This work should commence within 3 or 4 months.
