Narrative
A pinhole leak was discovered in the valve body of a 20" block valve at targa's weatherford station. The leak was so small the employee had to use snoop liquid soap to pin point it. The cost of pigging the product out of this segment of pipeline and equipment to remove and replace the valve is what made this a reportable accident, not the amount of product lost. After the valve was removed, using dye penetrant, a small crack inside of the valve body was found that allow product to find it's way to the pin hole on the outside of the valve body and leak to the atmosphere.
