Narrative
On august 20, 2019, the contractor was building out the wing walls for the creek's underground culvert that crossed under myers corners road. The contractor was utilizing a hydraulic hammer on a large excavator when they struck the 6' plastic 120 psig gas main twice. The first damage caused a significant indent but no leak. The second indent was located a foot away and caused a pipe wall rupture. This incident required damage claim to be compiled and estimated cost was only determined at this time to exceed $50,000.
