Narrative
At approximately 5:50 a.M. On september 6th, 2019, a truck driven by an unknown individual left the roadway near highland avenue & 224 highway in lexington missouri and crashed in to a district regulator station owned by the empire district gas company. The impact of the crash severed the control lines for both the operating regulator and the monitoring regulator at this location and created an overpressure situation that exceeded the maop on the system served by this district regulator station. The cost of the emergency response to this incident and the repairs needed to replace the district regulator station damaged by the crash is estimated at $288,000. 02/11/2020 - the repairs to the damaged regulator station have been completed and a guardrail has been installed at the location the vehicle in question left the roadway. The nrc report number has been changed from #1257712 to the original nrc report number of #1257545. The time and date an incident reporting criteria was met has been changed to 09/07/2019 at 15:00 as that is when it was determined that this incident would result in costs exceeding $50,000. The local time that operator identified failure has been changed to 09/06/2019 at 06:00 as that is when the local operations manager for the lexington service area received an alert of an overpressure situation at this regulator station.
