Narrative
A leak was reported in a telecommunications duct where after days of investigating, venting, and pinpointing, the escaping gas was discovered to be coming from a 2-inch plastic natural gas main that had melted by being in close proximity to a communications cable. Due to the length of time performing the investigation and repairing the leak it was determined that costs would exceed the $50,000 threshold for reporting where the national response center (nrc) was contacted at that time. Additional nrc report number 1254106 was created for the same event after a supplemental call was placed with the nrc to update the initial telephonic notice.
