Narrative
On july 2, 2019 at 10:03 southwest gas corporation (swg) was notified by scottsdale fire department of a possible bore hit at scottsdale road, north of sky song boulevard. Swg crews responded and found that a 2" service line had been hit by the horizontal drilling bit being operated by a 3rd party contractor working for a communications utility company. Swg controlled the flow of gas by utilizing valves which resulted in an outage of 1,673 accounts. There were no injuries or fatalities as a result of the incident. Swg notified the national response center (nrc) on july 2, 2019 at 12:37 and was given the nrc report #1250776. Swg provided an update to the nrc on july 3, 2019 at 15:00 and was given nrc report #1250908.
