Narrative
On may 31, 2019, a third-party contractor damaged a 10-inch steel main on bain street in jurupa valley, while grading the road for a construction project. Socalgas company crew responded and controlled the gas. No injuries or further damage resulted from this incident. The 10-inch steel main was repaired by replacing a section of the pipe. Investigation of the incident showed that there was a valid USA ticket for the contractor and the 10-inch main was properly marked. The contractor failed to maintain markings and pot-hole which resulted in the damage. This incident was reported to DOT and cpuc due to gas release exceeding 3,000,000 cubic feet and estimated property damage of $50,000 or more.
