On april 4, 2019 3rd party contractor was performing excavation using horizontal directional drilling (hdd) methods along the 200 block of west chocolate avenue. In the process of hdd work, the 3rd party contractor failed to expose a properly marked ugi facility in the public right of way, that happened to be in the bore path. The drill subsequently pierced our main which was part of a distribution network in a commercial area. This event is being reported as an incident due to the cost of this repair exceeding the $50,000 reporting threshold. Please note ugi updated the nrc on april 5, 2019 at approximately 16:16 with gas lost calculations and the amount of individuals evacuated. The updated nrc number is 1241967.
