Narrative
Washington gas received a call from a third-party excavator at 1:56pm on tuesday, february 26, 2019. Upon arrival, washington gas found a 12-inch plastic main pipe had been damaged during excavation and gas was blowing. Washington gas crews reduced natural gas pressure in the area to minimize gas lost. Washington gas shut the main down by squeeze-off at 9:07pm on february 26, 2019, which resulted in an outage of 767 residential customers and 44 commercial customers. The damaged section was cut out and replaced and the main was re-energized on february 27, 2019. On wednesday, february 27, washington gas found that miss utility marks had not been preserved on the site.
