On january 6, 2019 at 9:38 puget sound energy responded to a gas odor call at 25807 se 152nd st in issaquah. Upon arrival, the pse gas first responder identified an underground leak on a 2" pe distribution main that was caused by an electrical ground fault from a downed power line arcing on the pe main tracer wire.. The downed power line was caused by a heavy windstorm. Pse organized a special leak survey of the surrounding area and found a second leak 150' east of the first leak. Pse controlled the situation by the use of squeezers at 19:44 on january 6, 2019 resulting in the loss of 3 customers. A final repair was made on january 7, 2019 at 18:00 by replacing 290' of the 2" pe main. The main replacement cost and response was estimated at $62,000 exceeding the federal $50,000 reporting threshold.
